Description
Centella asiatica has been used historically for wound healing and to relieve congestion from upper respiratory infections and colds.It is also known for it’s ability to reduce fever too. Applied externally, people used it to treat herpes, sprains, fractures and snakebite.
Centella asiatica mainly contains triterpenic acid and triterpenoid saponin. Triterpenic acid includes asiatic acid, Brahmic acid, Isobrahmic acid, Madagascaric acid, and betulinic acid. Triterpenoid saponins include asiaticoside, Madecassoside, Brahmoside, Brahminoside, Thankinide, and ginseng (Isothankuniside) and so on. Minpei K et al. isolated five new triterpenoid glycosides from Centella asiatica.
Polyene acetylene hydrocarbons: The snowy grassland contains a plurality of polyacetylene olefin compounds, and at least 16 kinds of them are isolated.
It also contains veralin, fruit acid, Vc, centellose, centella asiatica, flavonols, fatty acids, and trace elements such as calcium, iron, potassium, magnesium and manganese. Helium, selenium, zinc, etc.
